The Fallen Angel (Poem)
Once I saw a star,
Descend upon the earth,
looking like an Angel from afar,
smiling brightly in mirth.
Shining brighter than the sun,
yet shimmering with a smile,
"`tis my heart thou hast won"
drifted my mind awhile.
I was amazed by her face,
glinting and glowing so bright,
that my eyes started to daze,
at her exemplary sight.
As I stood wondering in awe,
and gladness filled my heart,
the loveliest smile that I saw,
tore all my sadness apart.
Suddenly a shooting star flew past,
I wished I could be like her,
an Angel filled with love so vast,
so I could reach my Creator.
And as I kept staring,
the Angel took my hands,
Her touch; loving and caring,
kindness as innumerable as sands.
Yet I still had a fear,
lest she would go away,
her heartbeat I could hear,
eagerly waiting for me to say.
The sky was lighting up,
and the moon; already gone,
loneliness filled my cup,
I could feel the breaking dawn.
The wisest words ever heard,
was preaching about love,
but Alas! She disappeared...
Right into the heavens above.
Rooted, I stood stupefied,
searching her; high and low,
my emotions; I couldn't hide,
and my tears began to flow.
A faint light began to expose,
made me feel like an Angel,
and my wings gently arose,
I realised, It was I who fell!
