The Love of My Life (Poem)
I love to see the lighters
cracking in the sky,
the fresh dew rolling and
the fireflies passing by,
but whence for the first time
my eyes set upon your face,
I couldn't stop staring
at your mesmerising gaze,
but in the inside I'm heartbroken
and ask myself everyday;
wounds do heal but do scars
ever fade away?
Yet your smile is the only thing
that makes me forget everything,
and lightens my heart with
the harmonious joy it brings!
They say love is a force immanent
in the world and its eminent,
and I do believe that you'd fall in love
with me and its imminent,
I keep thinking of you from
the starting ray of the sunshine,
I'm still waiting for you to come back
and I'd call you mine!
and I just can't blame you
for my studies becoming a mess,
But I promise that I'd treat you
like a Princess; nothing less!
Being with you;
there's no fear that I'd abide,
So when you're beside me,
I keep hoping that you'd be my bride!
Girl you're like a fire
and without you I'm so cold,
Your warmth can't be resisted;
my heart melts and moulds,
You are the only one
for whom my heart lusts,
Cause without you I can't live
and my heart would turn to dust!
As I close my eyes; I can hear the
rustling leaves and gushing waterfall,
and I'm awe-struck by the music
of the song-bird's sweet love call,
Still I can't fit my feelings in these
poems even though they're true,
So as long as you love me,
I promise I'll always love you.
