A Thanksgiving to God (Poem)
Lord Thou hast created everything,
things both great and small,
yet I forget to pay my gratitude,
to Thee each time I call.
Perfect as well as imperfect,
both holy as well as vile,
Thou made us with a purpose,
and gave us all a smile.
Thou hath loved me so much that,
Thou hath bestowed Thy secret charms,
and to bear my burdens,
Thou hast given me two strong arms.
Thou hast showered upon us special talents,
which made us all unique,
and to complete us,
Thou hast kept us in our clique.
Prithee with my heart,
love Thee with my soul,
for Thou hast been my guide,
leading me towards my goal.
Science proves Thy absence,
but I believe Thee doth exist,
in every human is Thy presence;
in every stone, wood and mist.
The world makes me cry,
for I always feel dejected,
still Thou hast given me shelter,
every time I've been rejected.
Forgiveness is all I ask,
for the times I've wronged Thee,
I apologise for the times I've sinned,
and for those who hath trespassed against me.
Amen...
